Suncorp New Zealand announces the appointment of Rob McDonald to its Boards

Suncorp New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob McDonald as a new director of its companies, Vero Insurance and Vero Liability, effective 1 March 2025. He brings over 30 years of finance expertise to the Boards, with an impressive track record that spans industry roles and chartered accounting positions across New Zealand, Australia, the UK and South Africa.
Rob is the current Chairman of Contact Energy Limited and is a director of FleetPartners Group Limited. He is also a Council member of the University of Auckland. Prior to this, Rob served as the Chief Financial Officer of Air New Zealand for 14 years until his retirement in 2018.

Rob’s previous board roles include appointments at Fletcher Building Limited, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand Inc., AIA Limited, and he has served as the former Vice Chairman of the IATA Financial Committee. Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland and completed the Program of Management Development at Harvard Business School in 1999. He is also a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
